Creating your Own Handmade Curtains

Handmade curtains are getting a lot of popularity not only in the United Kingdom, but also around the globe. Some people might think that all curtains are handmade. There are some that are created by machines and there are some that are personally made and hand crafted by professional sewers.

You can’t really say that it is rare to find handmade curtains, but it is difficult to know whether a curtain is handmade or not. If you think that making a handmade curtain is really hard, here is a simple do-it-yourself technique to create a simple curtain with amazing designs.

Buying the Cloth and Choosing the Design

Buying the cloth and choosing the colour and design is a very important factor when creating handmade curtains. If you want to find high quality cloths with great designs, it is best to look at the products of Kurtinz as they offer the best on the market today.

Make sure that the cloth that you will choose will complement the design of your house. Well, you don’t want to adjust the design of the house just because you made the wrong choice when it comes to the fabric.

Do not choose a fabric with only a single design on the other side. Make sure that both sides have the same design.

Prepare the Measurements

After buying the fabric and choosing an appropriate design for the curtain, the next step is to prepare the measurements. This is dependent on the size of your window and the type of curtain that you want to put. You can consider curtains that are covering a wide area including a part of the wall or you can create a curtain that will only cover the window itself.

Most people choose curtains that also cover a part of the wall since it is quite elegant. Start by measuring the parts of the window, but make sure to put an allowance before cutting the fabric. Try to put an allowance for the top part because the rod will be inserted in it.

Start Sewing

This is the hardest part of the process, especially if you don’t know anything about sewing. You need a sewing machine because doing it manually may cause problems in the design.

Put the fabric in the machine and sew the sides first. You can also add a lining, but make sure that that it is located at the wrong side of the fabric. Make sure that the layers are aligned properly and hold on to the pattern and follow it slowly until you finish sewing. Make sure that you will not lost track of the pattern because you will have to redo everything when it happens.

You can always add other designs on the curtain but it will be more advanced. This is definitely the simplest way to make handmade curtains. It is not as elegant as the curtains that you can buy from Kurtinz, but the looks and appearance will definitely complement your interior design.

Original Round Lamp With A Looping Stem

To get an original lamp it’s not necessary to use some crazy materials or unreal combinations – a cool details is sufficient. In this Round lamp the original detail is the stem – it forms an exaggerated loop behind the conical shade. There is also a wide shallow shade mounted at a 45 degree angle on the end of the curving steel tube. The gently shaped steel tube could be described as the centrepiece of the lamp because on the one hand it pictures the flow of the current all the way up from the base to the light source within the shade. The loop provides a handle-like geometry for easily moving the lamp – functional and cool-looking at the same time. An acrylic diffuser covers the light source and emits a wide beam of light suitable for bedside reading or working at a desk.

Provocative And Minimalist Shaky Vase

We’ve seen many original vases – inspired by different times, things and kinds of art. These vases are provocative and almost surreal. This ceramic vase called Shaky by Enzyma is abstract, characterized by a clear geometry, which places it beyond time and specific space. The shape is cylindrical, stretched, with an arc, and this asymmetry creates a feeling of instability. The balance is guaranteed by a metallic weight placed in the bottom. The flowers can be inserted into the slot on the top of the curve and be arranged inside it. This vase is an great idea for a minimalist interior – provocative and attracting attention.

Fairytale-Inspired Trailer Interiors On The Roof Of A Hotel

Trailers are not exactly a standard of luxury when it comes to interior design and it’s understandable. They’re just tiny spaces found in parking lots, surrounded by dust and with very limited space inside. But the trailers we’re describing are no regular trailers.

First of all, they’re located on the rooftop of a hotel and this makes them special from the start. Also, they’ve been decorated by artists so they have beautiful and unique interiors.

The theme chosen for the trailers is inspired by fairy tales, more exactly by Goldilocks and the three bears, Dorothy and several other examples. The luxurious trailers have inviting and sophisticated interiors featuring beautiful colors and palettes and carefully chosen accent details.

The Dorothy Airstream, for example, features a duck egg-blue interior with white polka dots, some of them with mini-exhibition items inside.

The Love of Lace trailer is pink and very feminine. The Pleasantville trailer has a very suggestive name and a 1950′s inspired interior. It’s decorated with mint green and cherry red accents. The Afro Funk trailer has an earthy color theme that gives you a beautiful African experience, of course, without the wildlife. All the trailers are interesting and unique and they definitely erase all preconceptions related to their nature.-Via

Designed by Com.a.ar, the table features a simple but also very sleek and stylish look. It has a rectangular top with a glossy finish and the base is a central pillar.

Ripple Table.

Some tables have a more artistic design. For example, this one was created by artist Lee J Rowland and it’s been inspired by the ripple effect. Recreating the effect and including it in the design of this amazing piece of furniture was a real challenge. After a long and difficult CNC 3D machining process followed by lap polishing, the coffee table was finally created.

 “Table” Table.

This is the Table table. It was designed by Toshinori Kamiya of the Kamiya Designs and it’s been named like that because of its design. The base of the table actually spells the word “table. It’s actually just the T that can be used as an actual table, the rest of the tables being just for décor.
